HIST 181 U.S. Environmental Justice: A History of Activism

This class will explore issues of environmental racism, class and gender discrimination, the role of citizen science, pollution, and the politics of industrial waste through a set of case studies. Students will examine the history of environmental justice in America and will apply these lessons to explore the politics of contemporary environmental issues.
