The fully-online CPA (Certified Public Accountant) licensure-qualifying MBA in Accounting is specifically designed for students who have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and want to earn the additional credits for CPA certification and licensure, or desire the MBA degree to enhance their career potential with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary in all accounting careers.  The curriculum is intended to meet the new requirements that were recently announced by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Different states can have different requirements for a person to receive licensure or certification. To protect students from unnecessary educational expenses, federal regulations require programs that prepare students for licensure or certification to disclose the state(s) for which the program meets licensure or certification requirements. Please review Fredonia’s Professional Licensure Disclosures. A student may not enroll in one of these programs if their permanent address is outside of the State of New York UNLESS they also submit a Student Attestation Form. Please contact the chair or director of the department if you have any questions or concerns.

Admission Requirements:

Students with BS degrees in Accounting from the Fredonia School of Business will be admitted with no required foundational courses. Candidates with bachelor’s degrees from AACSB accredited accounting programs will be afforded the same treatment. For all other bachelor-level applicants, transcripts would be evaluated for need of prerequisite course work (foundations or additional accounting courses). Fredonia School of Business majors in their senior semesters may be eligible to enroll in graduate-level courses as per our current university catalog.

This program will follow all of Fredonia’s graduate admissions processes and policies.
