- This major cannot be combined with the Earth Science major.
- If combined with a major in Geology, the upper level electives required for the Geology major must be different from the upper level elective used for Adolescence Education: Earth Science.
- If combined with a major in Environmental Sciences, the required upper level elective cannot double count with Environmental Science's upper level electives.
- If combined with a minor in Geology, the elective course used for the Adolescence Education: Earth Science requirement cannot count toward to minor's electives.
Total Credit Hours: 94-98
Earth Science Adolescence Education students must attain a minimum grade of C in all Geosciences courses, and attain a 3.0 GPA or higher to graduate. In addition, all students in this program must complete the language other than English (American Sign Language, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish) requirement as stated by the New York State Education Department. Proficiency requirement met by the following:
- Fredonia Placement Exam determination of Fredonia Foundations courses 100 and 110 in the same World Language or course 110 (or higher) in World Language.
- Proficiency may also be fulfilled by qualifying AP, IB, CLEP Exam scores or transferred courses of Elem I and Elem II of same language, as verified by Registrar’s Office.
The General Education foreign language requirement meets the certification requirement.
A candidate who receives a Satisfactory standing in the Student Teaching placement must also receive a passing grade in their co-requisite Seminar/Methods course to advance.
