Authorization and Accreditation

The State University of New York at Fredonia is authorized and approved by the Board of Regents to operate as a university. All of Fredonia's baccalaureate and graduate programs are registered by the New York State Education Department. A list of authorized institutions and degree programs can be found using the Inventory of Registered Programs.

Institutional Accreditation is awarded by Middle States Commission on Higher Education. SUNY Fredonia was first accredited in 1952 and was awarded reaccreditation most recently in 2020.
