BIOL 360 AIDS and STDs

Discussion of the many ways AIDS and STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) have affected people and the societies in which they live. The course includes information about human physiology, immune defense mechanisms, and microbiology. Detailed biological discussions focus on the transmission of AIDS and STDs, disease symptoms, treatment, and prevention, as well as information on the historical accounts, global and regional impact, ethical, legal and public policy considerations, economic impact of AIDS and STDs, and the psychosocial impact on the individual, family and community.
